Wooly Primitives on Winging Point

In 1994 Devon attended the August Folk Art Show in Lunenburg and met Deanne Fitzpatrick. Shortly after that she visited Deanne and learned to hook!

Her first mat was a cat…….appropriate since Devon has loved cats all her life.

She continues to find it most fun to hook animals that she loves while using many vivid colors. Devon has hooked many more cats, her dog, fish, sheep, family members, as well as a basket of bitter sweet. Dyeing the wool and planning the pattern continues to provide a creative outlet for her as it did for women in the nineteenth century who hooked to make warm floor coverings for their home.
