Tara Hunt lives in Port Dufferin, NS, and she is a self-taught artist whose work draws on, and celebrates, many elements of her mixed English, French and Mohawk background. From her native roots comes a love of beading, of natural beauty, and of working with natural materials. She combines these with a European aesthetic, a sometimes quirky sense of whimsy, and a love of spiritual expression, to create works that some have called archetypically Canadian. She works in several media, including photography, sculpture, digital art, painting, leathercraft, and jewellery-making. She and her husband, Keith Spears, market their wares under the business name of Lily Pond Designs. You can find their work in several galleries and fine craft stores throughout the Maritimes as well as in the United States.
